On February 13, 2012 I filed to retain my seat on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. The second highest court in North Carolina.

I have been on the court now for almost two years and have enjoyed serving the people of North Carolina in this capacity.

What I have found is that experience counts on the court. My 35 years as a trial lawyer, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, my years as a Special Superior Court Judge, my experience as an adjunct instructor of law and my service to the legal profession and the state as past president of the North Carolina State Bar are experiences that have prepared me to serve on our second highest court.

My judicial philosophy is simple. I follow the law. I bring all of my 40 years of legal and judicial experience and analytical skills to bear on every case that comes before me. Most important, I try to be fair to every citizen and apply the rule of law equally to every case. The people of North Carolina deserve no less.
